Husband and wife team Sam Taylor and Melissa Gage founded The Pearl in the winter of 2023. The charming 24 cover restaurant sits in the heart of Prestwich Village - their home of 10 years - and where they co-founded their first concept, the brazen sandwich pop-up, SanSan. When a former computer shop came up for sale on the high street, they jumped at the chance to own brick and mortar. After a successful kickstarter campaign and with the support of the local community, they opened The Pearl; a lively Modern British bistro. You'll find Sam on the restaurant floor, hosting and catching up with regulars during a bustling service.

In the kitchen, Head Chef Matt Bennett is joined by Sous' George Webber and Jae Haney. Matt and George have a rich history of Michelin experience between them, first meeting at 1* Gidleigh Park in Devon and then reconnecting at 1* Mana restaurant in Manchester, where they met Jae. Together they share a desire to cook excellent produce, simply and well, exploring that interesting pocket between refined European cooking and the comfort of the British bistro menu.
